3rd AFRICAN COFFEE SUSTAINABILITY FORUM! FOUR WEEKS TO GO! The 4C Association in collaboration with the African Fine Coffee Association (AFCA) and the Sustainable Coffee Program powered by IDH is organising the 3rd African Coffee Sustainability Forum: “Building a Business Case for Sustainability for African Coffee Farmers” on 13 February in Kampala, Uganda. The Forum will take place one day prior to the start of the 10th Africa Fine Coffee Conference and Exhibition. This year’s program has been elaborated in close cooperation with the African research and science community and is addressing the key business factors influencing the adoption of sustainability practices by African coffee farmers: Productivity and Good Agricultural Practices as key influencing factors for the business case – how to reach out and what are results and impacts Gender and youth in sustainable coffee production as influencing factors for the business case Enabling environment and coffee policies
The goal of the Forum is for participants to share practical experiences on the successes and challenges of sustainable coffee production, processing and trading. Against this premise, the rationale of the forum is to draw input from participants to generate ideas, innovations, best practices, recommendations and proposals on how documented success can be sustained and scaled up and how challenges can be addressed to ensure an effective implementation of sustainable coffee practices.
